SMART Electrical Solutions

Martin Electric supported a major process expansion at a Confidential Pharmaceutical company with a 12-month electrical and low-voltage scope supporting a new Parts Wash operation within an active pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Delivered in partnership with BBL Construction, the project required close coordination across trades while maintaining strict cleanroom standards, safety protocols, and uninterrupted adjacent operations.

Services Provided:

Power Distribution, Interior Lighting, IT & Communications, Fire Alarm, Security, Heat Trace Install

The scope included extensive electrical removals and reconfiguration to prepare the space for new process equipment, followed by the complete installation of new power distribution systems, lighting, controls, and process electrical infrastructure. Martin Electric installed new panels, transformers, UPS load centers, cable tray systems, and receptacle networks while coordinating closely with mechanical, cleanroom, automation, and BAS teams to ensure seamless system integration.

A significant component of the project involved process electrical and instrumentation work, including power and control wiring for washers, HVAC systems, overhead doors, sump pumps, heat trace systems, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). All work was executed in accordance with Regeneron’s stringent material, conduit, and installation standards ranging from stainless steel and PVC-coated rigid conduit in process areas to labeled, color-coded raceways throughout the facility.

Low-voltage systems were equally critical to the success of the project. Martin Electric provided telecommunications, security, BAS electrical support, and a fully integrated fire alarm system, coordinating with Johnson Controls and other specialty vendors to support access control, interlocks, cameras, clocks, wireless access points, and monitoring systems tied into the campus’ existing infrastructure.

Throughout the project, Martin Electric actively participated in weekly BIM coordination meetings, contributing trade-specific modeling to resolve clashes, support prefabrication, and maintain schedule certainty. The team also managed penetrations through cleanroom assemblies, fire-stopping, labeling, testing, documentation, and final commissioning - meeting all inspection, warranty, and turnover requirements.

The successful delivery of the Parts Wash expansion reflects Martin Electric’s ability to execute complex, multi-discipline electrical scopes in highly regulated pharmaceutical environments, where precision, coordination, and reliability are essential to long-term operational performance.
