Building on a long-standing relationship supporting mission-critical facilities in the Capital Region, Martin Electric was selected to return to a high-security data center operated by a confidential Data Center client for a six-month electrical infrastructure upgrade. This project represents the next phase in strengthening the facility’s power distribution systems to support uninterrupted operations and long-term reliability.

Installation of new MV switchboards, MV Termination and Testing, Grounding, Lighting, Install new 300kva PDU's, Building Management System, Commissioning

The scope of work included the demolition, installation, and commissioning of new MSSA and MSSB medium-voltage switchgear, along with associated medium-voltage terminations and testing. Martin Electric also installed new 300 kVA Power Distribution Units (PDUs), completed grounding and lighting upgrades, and integrated building systems into the facility’s Building Management System (BMS) to support enhanced monitoring and operational control.

Executing work of this nature required precise planning, strict adherence to safety and security protocols, and close coordination to ensure the facility remained fully operational throughout construction. Working within an active data center environment, the team applied proven commissioning practices and quality control measures to deliver a seamless transition to the upgraded systems.

This project follows prior major electrical work completed at the facility in 2022 and reinforces Martin Electric’s ability to support repeat clients through evolving infrastructure needs. The successful execution reflects the company’s core strengths as a commercial and industrial electrical contractor: technical expertise, adaptability in high-risk environments, and the ability to perform under pressure where reliability is non-negotiable.
