Celebrating Our Newest Journeymen!

At Martin Electric, we’re proud to announce the graduation of three outstanding individuals — Tori Calhoun, Jon Cowles, and Jim Simon — from the Tri-City JATC electrical apprenticeship program. After five years of intense training, both in the classroom and on the job site, they are now officially journeyman electricians and valued members of our team.

This achievement marks the end of a rigorous journey. The Tri-City Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) program is one of the most respected in the electrical industry. Apprentices are trained through a combination of hands-on work experience and in-depth academic instruction, preparing them for a successful career in a high-demand, high-skill field. The program is a partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 236 and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) — two organizations committed to excellence, safety, and opportunity. 

IBEW Local 236 represents some of the most skilled electricians in the Capital Region and beyond. The local union is built on a tradition of quality work, ongoing education, and strong labor values — and that’s exactly what Tori, Jon, and Jim represent.

We’re honored to have watched them grow into the professionals they are today, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to grow in their careers.
